Sofiyska Voda participates in an international meeting of trunk sewer operators
The Sewerage Services Unit of Sofiyska Voda presented its achievements over the last year at the traditional international conference meeting of Trunk Sewer Operators for Eastern Europe that took place at the end of October in Sofia in the conference hall of Bistritsa PWTP.
Representatives of Veolia Group from Germany, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and the Veolia headquarters in France also attended the forum.
Each side presented innovations from the last year in the field of Sewerage Services, Sewerage System Management, Software and Equipment for Operation and Maintenance of Sewer Networks.
An interesting highlight of the presentations was the showcasing of a challenging repair of a huge sewer facility with a system of gates to divert sewage flow to a future stormwater tank located under a private property. The participants also shared different techniques to fight foul odor from the sewer network, applications of developed models of the sewer network. Last but not least, the topic of the challenges all companies are facing in the fight against climate change was addressed and, in particular, the consequences for the sewer systems, as for instance, how systems behave during stormwater events.
Veolia headquarters in France presented various software solutions. One of them was HUBGRADE, which combines and analyzes data from different sensors along the sewer network. They shared also various projects analyzing the structural and operational condition of the sewer network (Reliable Sewer, OctaVE and many others), as well as an acoustic system for diagnosing blockages in separate sewer systems.
