The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved Sofiyska Voda’s Business Plan

The company updates the prices of its services from 1st October 2024

01.10.2024

In a closed meeting, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved the business plan of the capital’s WSS operator for the period 2022-2026. In accordance with the approved company estimates, starting October 1st, the price for the domestic customers of Sofiyska Voda becomes 3.52 BGN per cubic meter, VAT included. For 2025, the business plan provides for the price to become 3.64 BGN per cubic meter, and for 2026 – 3.80 BGN per cubic meter. The prices remain far below the social affordability threshold, as shown by the data, and are the fourth lowest among the large and medium-sized WSS operators in the country.

The investments envisaged for the period 2022 - 2026 are BGN 260 million, as the average amount invested per annum is BGN 50 million. Although the company has been operating without a business plan in force since 2022, this pace of investments has not been affected, and the additional commitments assumed by the operator to the Municipality of Sofia, concerning the sewerage network in Sofia, have also been fulfilled.

The envisaged investments will be channeled not only to the development of the physical infrastructure, operated by the company, but will also support its digitalization and the creation of innovations.

It is expected for the water losses in the network of Sofiyska Voda as at the end of the regulatory period in 2026 to be reduced to 33.29%, which is significantly below the average percentages for the country.
