Three new potable water fountains are now available to the passengers travelling through Sofia Airport immediately in the pre-departure area. Two of them are in the departure section at Terminal 2, and one – at Terminal 1.

These are smart generation water fountains with sensor-operated jets and they provide the options of filling bottles or cups and convenient direct consumption.

Thus, like most big cities in the world, the passengers departing from the capital have access already to water of high quality, and Sofia Airport has taken another firm step towards the established European practices of free access to water resources and plastic waste reduction.  

The campaign to equip Sofia Airport with fountains with guaranteed fresh tap water is a result of the good partnership between its management and Sofiyska Voda, part of the international Veolia Group.
